Family reviews: "Fly Me to the Moon,' "Star Wars: The Clone Wars'

A parents guide to select new movies:

"Fly Me to the Moon'

Rating: G.

What it's about: Spunky young flies living near Cape Canaveral conspire to hitch a ride to the moon with the crew of Apollo 11.

The Kid Attractor Factor: Animated houseflies, not quite as gross as the real thing.

Good lessons/bad lessons: ”If it ain't an adventure, it's not worth doing.“

Violence: Cold War shenanigans from Soviet flies.

Language: Disney clean.

Sex: Hints of a past romance for Grandpa.

Drugs: None.

Parents' advisory: This one is for the very youngest movie-goers in your family, 6 and younger.

"Star Wars: The Clone Wars'

Rating: PG for sci-fi action violence throughout, brief language and momentary smoking.

What it's about: It's those mythical ”clone wars“ in the middle of the Star Wars series.

The Kid Attractor Factor: A well-animated installment in the Star Wars series, with lots of action and a sassy teen girl.

Good lessons/bad lessons: ”Old sins cast long shadows,“ and ”Sometimes, a good defense is a good offense.“

Violence: Quite a bit; impersonal, animated, but still an astronomical body count.

Language: A few moments of profanity.

Sex: Exotic dancers, a scantily attired ”youngling.“

Drugs: ”Momentary smoking“ in a galaxy ”far, far away.“

Parents' advisory: If your kids are old enough to have seen the other movies or earlier Clone Wars TV series, they can handle it.
