In 2006, Valerie Still stood on a newly renovated basketball court in Worthington, Ohio. Still helped pay for the court as part of an effort to establish neighborhood mentoring and after-school programs. Less than three years later, a divorce and a bad economy left Still struggling to pay her mortgage.

UK's all-time top scorer nearly lost her home to foreclosure

Two days. Valerie Still was two days from being homeless. When the sheriff sends official notice that your house will be auctioned out from under you in foreclosure, it tends to be rather jarring.
